We’re glad to invite you to the XV edition of FOTOGRAFIA – Festival Internazionale di Roma, opening on October 21st at MACRO Musem, Rome.
This year’s edition, curated by Marco Delogu and Alessandro Dandini De Sylva, focuses on the theme Rome and the world, focusing on the manifold relationships between the city and its inhabitants. As in the previous editions of the festival, the board of Rome Commission has invited Italian and international photographers to interpret the theme freely producing site-specific researches.

THE COLLECTIVE EXHIBITION
Curated by Marco Delogu, the exhibition gathers most of the authors invited by Rome Commission (Josef Koudelka, Olivo Barbieri, Anders Petersen, Martin Parr, Graciela Iturbide, Guy Tillim, Tod Papageorge, Alec Soth, Paolo Ventura, Tim Davis, Paolo Pellegrin and Marco Delogu himself), together with the works by Roger Ballen, Jon Rafman, Simon Roberts e Leo Rubinfien, Pino Musi,Alfred Seiland, Don McCullin and Luca Nostri.
OTHER EXHIBITIONS
Pier Paolo Pasolini
An exhibition of works investigating the relationship of great photographers with Pasolini’s body (William Klein, Ugo Mulas, Mario Dondero, Tazio Secchiaroli, Mario Tursi, Dino Pedriali and many others), curated by Alessandro Dandini de Sylva.
Letha Wilson and Kate Steciw
An exhibition focusing on the new language of photography, with works by Letha Wilson and Kate Steciw, curated by Alessandro Dandini de Sylva.
Dodewaard, Asger Carlsen and Rachel de Joode: Muri Socchiusi
A series of projections by Sovrintendenza Capitolina ai Beni Culturali, MACRO, Direzione Casa Circondariale “Regina Coeli” and VO.RE.CO – VOlontari REgina Coeli, curated by Claudio Crescentini. Video, frames and photographs as a diacronic narration of the interventions designed for the walls of Regina Coeli, a space opened for the first time to art events.
Jubilee People
A project by Carlo Gianferro and Tommaso Ausili about the pilgrims who visited Rome in occasion of the last Jubilee.
La XIV edizione della Commissione Roma
Founded in 2003, Rome Commission invites each year renowned international authors to depict the city with total freedom of interpretation. For the festival’s XV edition, the commission produces the following works by: Roger Ballen, Jon Rafman, Simon Roberts, Leo Rubinfien.
PREMIO GRAZIADEI PER LA FOTOGRAFIA
The award, dedicated to Italian photographers under 35 years old, reaches its fifth edition. The winner of this year’s edition is Alessandro Calabrese, with A failed entertainment. He will present his work alongside The Cool Couple’s new project, developed during this year. In addition to this, all the winners from the previous years are invited to exhibit their works (Andrea Botto, Francesco Neri, Luca Nostri, Luca Spano e Pietro Paolini).
