Nord Est Project
A contradictory and conflictual landscape
4 July – 16 August 2015
Opening: 4 July, 5.30 pm
Progetto Nord-Est. Un paesaggio di contraddizioni e conflitti presents the work of some among the best emerging Italian photographers dealing with contemporary landscape. Filippo Minelli’s Padania Classics explores the symbols of the so called Padania Macro-region, which underline the loss of memory due to the obsession for economical prosperity.
Indians, a project born from the collaboration between The Cool Couple and Alberto Sinigaglia, traces a ironical portrait of the hidden ideological structures lying in Veneto daily life. The Cool Couple presents also Approximation to the West, a double-layered investigation of the Carnia region, in Friuli Venezia Giulia, based on the interaction of historical elements and the absence of traces in a peculiar cultural landscape.
Stefano Graziani reflects in a metaphorical way on the weakness and instability of identity in his work: Palma Veneta. Marco Citron explores the side effects of global politics on a local area with Magredi. Businessmen suicides is the theme of Ryts Monet’s installation Black Flag Revival, while Habitat, a site-specific intervention by Francesco Nonino, scans the terrain to present to the public the traces of daily life.
