The Third Chimpanzee is a series of films exploring the relationship existing between urban spaces and its inhabitants, investigating the possibilities of tracing a representation of a cultural landscape through photography.
The history of Southern Italian city of Bari is intertwined with Adriatic Sea. The city has historically been a door to Europe, epitomizing a feeling that in recent years has become known to all Italian citizens, as the migration crisis increased. The simultaneous presence of different cultures in an area affected by high unemployment rates, criminality and the presence of the mafia make this urban structure a unique and labyrinthine mosaic. A fragmented picture. The film is based on the assumption that no editing or storyboard can describe a cultural landscape if not becoming a story itself.
